Staff Scientist Proteomics - Frankfurt Cancer Institute

The Frankfurt Cancer Institute (FCI) is a LOEWE Center where interdisciplinary teams work together to elucidate molecular mechanisms of tumor pathogenesis and therapy repsonse to develop innovative therapies. Research within FCI programs is substantially dependent on central innovative technology platforms to uncover undescribed pathomechanisms and potential therapeutic targets. The FCI Proteomics Platform is affiliated to the Department of Medicine 2 at the Medical Center of the Goethe University and is led by Prof. Dr. med. Thomas Oellerich . It is closely linked to his cancer research laboratory that studies proteogenomic pathomechanisms in cancer.

Your role

  • Planning and Execution of complex proteomics projects
  • Establishment and Implementation of innovative mass spectrometry (MS-)based techniques fpr translational research
  • Support of FCI research groups with proteomics expertise

Who you are

  • PhD or MD degree and a proven track record in high-level biomedical sciences
  • Profound expertise in quantitative MS-based proteomics and the respective data analysis including comprehensive proteome analyses and profiling of post-translational protein modifications
  • A strong understanding of general proteomics workflows and LC / MS instrumentation is required
  • Experience in the field of clinical proteomics, including blood plasma and tissue analysis, is appreciated
  • Candidates should have a strong interest in translational cancer research and in providing state-of-the-art technologies to facilitate the development of innovative tumor therapies and diagnostics
  • Due to legal requirements, valid proof of measles immunity / measles vaccination is necessary.
