The scope of SIP ist o provide state-of-the-art diagnostics and develop novel biomarkers to improve patient care.

Project Discription

Prostate Cancer (PCa) is one of the most frequent and lethal tumor types in men. This project aims at uncovering the mechanisms through which PCa cells alter their local tissue microenvironment to promote primary tumor progression and metastatic dissemination. Using multiomics approaches and multiplex tissue imaging on patient samples and animal models, we will develop biomarkers for improved PCa classification and response to treatment. In addition, we will quantify the anatomical organization of the tumor microenvironment in a curated cohort of metastic PCa patients, in order to unravel and functionally assess crosstalk mechanisms that support metastasis.
